10/7 DC Coffee Shops

This October, why not make early mornings a little easier by trying out some new coffee shops! Kimball Office has listed some great D.C. Coffee Shops in our Cool Things We Love Section. Feeling adventurous, try out the Taste of D.C. event this weekend, which we have listed a guide to in our New Things To Try In The Area Section. Or, in honor of Columbus Day, take a boat tour of D.C.!

New Things To Try In The Area: Taste Of D.C.
This weekend, staring on Saturday the 8th until Monday the 10th, the food event Taste of D.C. will be going on! This event, held on Columbus Day Weekend every Fall brings together 60+ restaurants for people to try! 



Here is Kimball Office's short guide for the Taste of D.C.:

  • Buy Tickets! You can buy a set of 10 or 20 for food and alcohol, and there are some events that require a ticket to be bought in advance as well. Tasting = 1-2 tickets. Entrees = 3-5 tickets. Wine/Beer (sample) = 1-3 tickets, Wine/Beer (full) = 4-5 tickets.
  • Pick which restaurants you want to hit up ahead of time, since there are so many to choose from! Some of our favorite restaurants attending include: Ben's Chili Bowl, Coppi's Organic Restaurant, Local 16, Lincoln, The Front Page D.C., Luke's Lobster, Station 4, Wicked Waffle, La Tasca, Edward Marc Choclatier, Mai Thai, and Sprinkles Cupcakes.
  • Bring an appetite!
  • Be sure to check out all the entertainment that will be at this event!
  • Taste of D.C. is located at Pennsylvania Ave. NW & 12th Street NW.


Product Of The Week! Carrington

Chinatown Coffee Co.
Designed by award winning Architect Robert Gurney, Chinatown Coffee Co. is a third wave coffee experience. With first-rate baristas and quality coffee, this coffee shop has a variety of drinks all made with fresh ingredients.

Big Bear Cafe
Big Bear Cafe is the perfect place to grab some great coffee or tea, made with "secret special" ingredients from the local farmer's market, Bloomingdale. Big Bear Cafe also has a fresh lunch and dinner menu that changes frequently for a unique dining experience each time. Some of the great lunch menu items include: Turkey, Apple, and Cheddar Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Pesto and Mozzerella Sandwich, and the Big Bear Sandwich of course.

U Street Cafe
With all day breakfast and handcrafted coffee, U Street Cafe is the perfect morning stop! U Street Cafe would be great to grab a quick bite in a warm setting with a client or co worker. 
For fall, we are loving: Cinnamon Latte, the Red Eye Coffee, Chai Smoothie, Apple Cinnamon Flavored Waffle, Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, Homemade Soup of the Day, Roast Beef Sandwich, and the Grilled Chicken Avocado Sandwich. For the entire menu, click here.


U Street Cafe is located at 1301 U Street 

Tryst Coffeehouse
Tryst Coffeehouse, bar, and lounge is a one of a kind eatery that offers a variety of drinks and great food to go along with it. Some of over favorite Tryst drinks for October include: Hot mulled orange juice, Hot mulled apple cider, Tryst House Blend Coffee, Americano Coffee, Hot Chocolate, Dragon's Well Tea,  City Harvest Green Tea, and the Voodoo Lady Coffeehouse Cocktail. With all day brunch, small entrees, sandwiches, salads, and fresh pastries, there is something for everyone to eat at Tryst! Some highlights on the menu for fall include: Belgian Style Waffles, Frittata, Corn Bread Waffle Bites, Bread and Brie, Daily Selection of Soup, the Hot Cindy Sandwich, the Tanya Sandwich, Guava Cream Cheese Puffs, Spiced Chai Muffins, Cinnamon Bun with orange zest icing, Peanut Butter Brittle Cookies, and Roasted Corn Flan.
