6/29 4th of July in DC

In The News! Climate Ride
Workspace's Marcus Kenny recently participated in Climate Ride, a five-day charitable bike ride working towards a sustainable future. Check out his experience!

Marcus:
"I ride because sustainability is my passion. We engage in a consuming culture and often without a complete understanding of the consequences from our impact. As responsible consumers, we must continuously seek to understand the dynamics of our complex and mysterious world. Being a part of the Climate Ride was an incredibly rewarding experience. Every rider and volunteer shared the passion of sustainability and cycling, but everyone advocated solutions from such unique and different perspectives. I left the Climate Ride feeling more motivated, committed, and inspired than ever before."

Product Of The Week! Q&A with Brian Grant on Kimball Office's Typical Visualizer.
We caught up with Brian Grant, Kimball Office's Marketing Strategy Manager  in Chicago and asked him to answer some questions on the new Typical Visualizer. Check it out...

How will Revit and Typical Visualizer help Kimball Office and our Dealers?
The Kimball Office Typical Visualizer allows Kimball Office and our Dealers to instantly show a variety of typical configurations to current and new customers in an easy-to-use and navigate platform that provides a wide range of data and downloads.

What is unique about Kimball Office’s Visualizer?
Unlike most online typical pages, the Kimball Office Typical Visualizer displays typicals with high quality, photo realistic renderings that really allow the user to see what the furniture will look like.  The addition of downloadable native Revit files with parametric capability makes reconfiguring and customizing typical layouts happen in just minutes.

Product Of The Week! New Offerings

Definition- The Definition casegoods line, a staple within Kimball Office's portfolio, is evolving to offer private office users increased functionality that balances traditional, progressive and contemporary styles. A new angled extension top creates a cockpit and can host up to three guests for impromptu meetings; additional extension tops, legs and panels are available to build flexible workwalls. Definition's enhancements also support wired technology with new grommets that sit flush to the surface, and hinged modesty panels to help manage and hide cabling. Other new enhancements include partial-height modesty panels and the choice between a classic U-leg, open-frame leg, cylinder base and veneer panels for extensions. Definition meets Scientific Certification Standards (SCS) Indoor Advantage Gold and American National Standards Institute/Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer's Association (ANSI/BIFMA) level 2 and 3 certifications. Definition's enhancements will be available in fall 2012.

Itsa- Available starting June 15, the new Itsa Task 300 is a heavy-duty task chair, capable of supporting up to 300 pounds, and complements the existing Itsa line, which is recognized for its clean lines, stylish design, competitive price point and versatility. The line includes two base models, with the choice of a rounded or square seat, seat slider, height-adjustable arms, synchro-tilt or knee-tilt control, black mid-back mesh, 55-millimeter casters and a black polyurethane base. The Itsa Task 300 is equipped with a black powder-coat aluminum base. All upholsteries from the Kimball Office Vision Collection are available at standard lead time, with five seat color options as part of the five-day Kimball Office quick ship program, Kwik Office. Itsa meets SCS Indoor Advantage Gold and ANSI/BIFMA level 2 certification.

Healthcare Seating- In fall 2012, significant enhancements to Beo, Collage and Event seating solutions will be available. The enhancements offer organizations durable, easy to maintain options for private, public or guest spaces.

Beo- Expanding with five enhancements, the Beo lounge will be available with a clean-out feature to help organizations easily wipe surfaces and remove debris. An extra three inches can also be added to the chair's width in order to accommodate individuals up to 350 pounds. Tablet surfaces will be available in wood or laminate, and a specialized grommet can be installed in one or both arms to allow users to easily transfer and lock the tablet surface into either arm for increased functionality. Beo's arms, back and seats can be upholstered separately in order to delineate space through color and match the design's aesthetic. Beo meets SCS Indoor Advantage Gold and ANSI/BIFMA level 2 certification.

Collage- A new bariatric bench solution, capable of accommodating users up to 500 pounds, increases the line's versatility, without compromising its design, which is already available with or without arms, as two-person benches and with a slat or upholstered back. Collage is designed for private offices, public spaces and meeting rooms, and offers designers and facility managers a versatile, stylish, wood-framed guest seating option. Collage meets SCS Indoor Advantage Gold and ANSI/BIFMA level 2 certification.

Event- Event is designed for meeting and training rooms and guest seating. A new bariatric bench, suitable for users up to 500 pounds, is available with the line's standard options such as: mobile or static legs, with or without arms and a variety of designs for the back shape. The bariatric bench helps facilities support a greater range of users and brings increased flexibility to commonly used spaces. Event meets SCS Indoor Advantage Gold and ANSI/BIFMA level 2 certification.

Vision Collection of surface materials- The Vision Collection of surface materials is adding 15 new fabrics tailored to meet the needs of healthcare and education settings. Of the 15 new fabrics, all from Mayer Fabrics, 13 are antimicrobial, seven are bleach-cleanable, seven possess both antimicrobial and bleach-cleanable properties and the four polyurethanes are polyvinyl chloride (PVC)-free. The Vision Collection now consists of 20 antimicrobial and 16 bleach-cleanable fabrics. Kimball Office's surface materials portfolio includes a mix of timeless styles, colors, small, medium and large patterns, solid textures, stripes and a range of new wood finishes and veneers.
