DC Events: DCBIA Annual Achievement Awards Dinner

New Things To Try In The Area: ZooFari
This great event held at the National Zoo is one of the premiere DC food events, with over 100 local restaurants showcasing their meuns! Proceeds of the event benefit the Zoo's conservation, research, and education programs! This year, ZooFari will be on Thursday May 17th from 630-930 PM. This exhibition of works by one of America’s premier living photographers includes 64 photographs taken between April 2009 and May 2011. On view at the American Art Museum, these non-commissioned images of quintessentially American subjects include the homes of Thomas Jefferson, Emily Dickinson, and Elvis Presley, as well as Niagara Falls, Walden Pond and Old Faithful.

This year’s DreamHome at the Washington Design Center will take inspiration from the Renwick Gallery’s upcoming exhibit “40 Under 40: Craft Futures.
The eight young interior designers selected to design DreamHome rooms are Miriam Dillon of Barnes Vanze Architects; William McGovern; Catherine Hailey; Jeff Akseizer; Christine Philp of Palindrome Deisgn; Kori Keyser; Scott Cooke; and Shanon Munn of Ambi Deisgn Studio.
