7/29 Ice Cream!

In honor of National Ice Cream Month, which was created by President Ronald Reagan in 1984, Kimball Office has designated our blog this week as the Ice Cream Blog! Enjoy your summer, and be sure to get yourself a little treat!

New Things To Try In The Area:

Wicked Waffle
Stating that they have soup, sandwiches, and more, Wicked Waffle is reinventing their meals with the waffle! With the mantra: No Butter, No Syrup - simple and wholesome recipes and ingredients are what makes their classic crispy and airy waffles. Our favorite summer treat from Wicked Waffle is the Sweet Brussel Waffle with Moorenko's Vanilla or Chocolate Ice Cream. Along with their dine-in location at 1712 Eye Street NW, D.C. Wicked Waffle also caters for those of you want the "Wicked" experience without the travel.

Circa at Foggy Bottom
The new Circa is now open! This popular Dupont Circle restaurant has had such great reviews that on July 19th they opened another location at 2221 I St. NW. The third installment of this ultra cool restaurant offers a larger bar and outdoor seating area than the other restaurants, for a more social setting. With an extensive wine list, Circe at Foggy Bottom is the perfect after work dinner with clients or co-workers. Our favorites on this menu include: Petite Filet Mignon Sliders, the choice of 3 cheese platter with - Crottin, St. Andre, and the Marieke Gouda, the Watermelon Mozzarella Salad, the Caramelized Jumbo Scallops, and the Circa Steak Frites. To finish off the perfect meal, pick any three of their delicious gelatos! We love the coffee, chocolate, and cinnamon.

Contoured for comfort, Bingo is the ideal stacking chair for stools and side chairs. With a polished chrome frame and a rich wood shell, they are ergonomically designed to promote good posture. 7/15 Refreshing Summer Treats

Kimball Office has been working hard this summer! With the Midsummer Night's Green Event, showcasing Kimball Office Furniture, coming up next week, we decided to take a quick breather with some refreshing summer treats. Just for you, we have included a simple recipe for delicious fruit popsicles and the best stops in DC to cool off with some invigorating snacks. Need a midweek pick-me-up? Be sure to try Oh Fish!, opening Wednesday the 20th, for a new take on made-to-order sushi. On behalf of Kimball Office, we hope everyone is enjoying their summer, and staying cool!

In The News!:
Recently, Kimball Office has been in the news three times! First in OFDA'S Magazine, OFDealer ran a project profile on the Kimball Office select dealer that managed the University of Southern Illinois Project. Kimball Office was also featured in two different articles by MMQB, the first about Kimball Office's involvement with BIFMA and the effect this is having on GSA orders, and the second covers our new products introduced during NeoCon. Georgy Olivieri, Director of architecture, design, and sustainable strategies at Kimball Office was quoted in the article discussing GSA orders, along with Kay Sargent,  Principal at IA Interior Architects, DC.

Oh Fish!
Set to open on the 19th or 20th of July, Oh Fish! is the sushi version of Chipotle. An assembly line allows customers to custom make their own sushi, perfectly fitted to their taste. Listed below is Kimball Office DC's perfect sushi roll order at Oh Fish!:
1. Roll Size: We prefer the 8 fat rolls to the skinnier ones with less rice.
2. Protein: The showroom is 50/50 on the Spicy Tuna and the Crispy Shrimp, while the Eel is another option.
3. Three Veggie Fillings: With picks like avocado, cilantro, and pickled pineapple, you cant go wrong with any of the fresh fillings!
4. Sauce: The Spicy Mayo sounds delicious, as does the spicy Tomato.
5. Toppings: Crunchy Rice Balls and Sesame seeds are the perfect topper!

Oh Fish! also has some creations already put together on their menu. We are dying to try the "Suki Suki"- Shrimp Salad, avocado, citrus-soy sauce, and crispy panko crumbs.
